I have registered for the course – what happens next?
Participant will receive an email confirmation from the CAUBO national office. This email will serve as your receipt.  Following the registration process, the course will be delivered via Université de Moncton’s web-based Learning Content Management System and information regarding the course will be provide via email from Université de Moncton’s course administrator. In the weeks preceding the course start date, participants will receive additional details from the course administrator. Information will include a username and password for the course, information on how to access the course, details regarding technology and the contact information for the duration of the online course.  

 

How do I access the course?             
In the weeks preceding the course start date participants will receive an email from Université de Moncton’s course administrator which contains a username and password and instructions on how to access the course.

 

How is the learning experience designed and what should I expect?
Each course is designed differently, depending on the course content and learning outcomes. Please review the course details for additional information on the course and the commitment expected from each participant.

 

Am I expected to be available for specific dates/times?  
Yes, some courses will require participants to be available during specific dates and times. Please review the course schedule before registering for any courses.

 

How do I ask questions? (content vs. technology)
Each course has an assigned Course Facilitator and a Technology Support Specialist. Each course also has a dedicated and separate Discussion Forum topic for “Content” and “Technical Support” questions.

 

The role of the Course Facilitator is to review and answer questions posted in the Discussion Forum entitled “Content”.  The Course Facilitator will also respond to other agreed to methods of communication such as email, chat and synchronous sessions. Exact methods will be communicated at the beginning of each course. The Course Facilitator may also have “office hours” during which he or she is available.

 

The role of the Technology Support Specialist is to review and answer questions posted in the Discussion Forum entitled “Technical Support”. The Technology Support Specialist also sets up and attends all synchronous sessions to ensure the smooth delivery of this service. The Technology Support Specialist is available Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Atlantic time zone). The goal is to answer all questions within 48 hours.

 

How will the course be evaluated?

These are non-credited courses and as such, there is no formal (summative) evaluation. Courses may contain opportunities for participants to check their understanding of concepts covered. These may be presented as pre-and-post tests or as self-check quizzes. Participants who complete all of the requirements will receive a "Certificate of Completion" at the end of the course.

 

How can I provide feedback?
We welcome your feedback! Courses are improved through feedback. Participants are encouraged to provide comments on the course material, technologies used in the delivery of the course, feedback given during the course, and activity level in the course. Participants can provide feedback at any point in the course using the Discussion Forum or by sending an email directly to the Course Facilitator. At the end of each course, CAUBO will also send all participants a course satisfaction survey. This is an easy-to use, web-based survey tool.

In the weeks preceding the course start date, each participant will receive an email from Université de Moncton’s course administrator with information regarding technology support for the course. Once received, the contact person will be able to answer any questions regarding the above requirements.

Policies

Course cancellation
CAUBO reserves the right to cancel courses in the event of insufficient registration. If a course must be cancelled, a full refund will be issued. All registrants will be notified once the next offering of the course is available. 

 

Participants’ cancellation
Refunds for online courses will only be granted for cancellations received five (5) or more business days before the course start date. An administrative fee of $50 will be applied for all cancellations. No fee will be charged for substitutions from within the participant’s institution. Substitutions must also be received five (5) or more business days before the course start date. All cancellations and substitutions must be received in writing by e-mail to ccharette@caubo.ca.  Refunds will be processed following the course start date.

 

Participants’ withdrawals from course
Refunds for online courses will not be granted if a participant withdraws after the course start date.

 

Wait-list
If any online course reaches its capacity, a waiting list will begin on a first-come-first-served basis. CAUBO will notify participants if any spots become available. All participants on the wait list will be notified once the next offering of the course is available.
