Debt Management Guide

The CAUBO Treasury & Investment Committee undertook to capture this experience, along with input from financial professionals to produce a Guide for CAUBO members that are considering issuing debt, as well as those that have issued debt and are now faced with the task of managing that debt.

This Guide is intended to be general in scope.  While it covers some processes in detail, it is neither a textbook nor a how-to manual.  It provides a general overview of alternatives and processes.  It will be useful to a finance officer who needs enough grounding in the subject to understand options and to communicate with specialists and other.  The Guide is NOT intended to replace professional advice and assistance.  A university that is comtemplating a significant financing should obtain professional advice and assistance.
